ICES Workshop on Probabilistic Assessments for Spatial Management (WKPASM)

© International Council for the Exploration of the Sea (ICES)

WKPASM aims to develop a protocol on the combined use of Bayesian Belief Networks and Bow-tie analysis to support risk based decision making spatial management. The workshop discussions and analysis will build upon a case study set within the Great Lakes in North America.

This workshop builds upon ongoing work of the ICES Working Group on Marine Planning and Coastal Zone Management (WGMPCZM) within the context of the management of risks resulting from the activities of the drivers operating in a given management area within the boundaries of a given ecosystem. The workshop will be held 9-13 March at the Thünen Institute in Hamburg, Germany, and will be chaired by Dr. Vanessa Stelzenmüller (Thünen Institute of Sea Fisheries) and Roland Cormier (Ecorisk Mgmt Inc./ Helmholtz-Zentrum Geesthacht).
