Fischbestände Online (Fishstocks Online): We provide objective information

The sustainable management of fish stocks is so complex that processors and retailers have a great need for scientific advice. We designed the website "Fischbestände Online" especially for these target groups: the information enables them to develop their own purchasing policies and thus support sustainable fisheries.

We address all aspects of sustainable use of marine fish relevant to the German market: independent, scientifically accurate, credible, up-to-date. We do not see "Fischbestände Online" as a competitor to the fish guides of the NGOs but as their basis.

The public website has been continuously expanded since 2009 and is financed by trade, industry and fisheries. It has become the central tool for advising commercial enterprises on sustainable fish purchasing.
