History of the research centre Braunschweig-Völkenrode
The headquarters of the Thünen Institute in the west of Braunschweig has an almost 90-year history as a research centre. The book Ein Ort der Forschung (A Place of Research) by historian Daniel Jankowski traces the first 30 years from the founding of the German Research Centre of Aviation in 1936 to the Federal Agricultural Research Centre (FAL) in 1966.
