Environmental data

On all research cruises, we regularly measure physical environmental parameters at each station, and record bycatch of seabirds and marine mammals on commercial fishing trips.

These data help us to determine the causes of fluctuations in the distribution, growth or offspring production of fish stocks, or to assess the environmental impact of fishing. This information is also collected according to the highest internationally agreed standards and is included in international databases or used by ICES working groups.
