Smart Fishing - Using Artificial Intelligence (AI) in Fisheries (Research) (in German)
We use artificial intelligence in the form of neural networks for object recognition to detect fish in trawl nets and thus take fishing to a new level. What is AI? How does this object recognition work? Why do we need it? How do you transfer existing models that work to new environments and targets?
17.00 h: Dr. Kristina Barz.
Wild marine fish - A sustainably produced food?! (in German)
Fish and seafood play an important role in the diet of the world's population. But what is actually the state of the world's fish stocks? What about the stocks in the Northeast Atlantic and on our doorstep in the Baltic Sea? Is everything really overfished? And how does fish compare with land use?
On Saturday, Aug. 12, 2023 18:30 Frederik Furkert from the Institute of Baltic Sea Fisheries will give his Rostock's Eleven lecture (in German):
Fishing for Data - Marine Monitoring as a "Desirable Bycatch" in Fisheries.
You will find us in the city harbor of Rostock, on the quay edge opposite the "Haedgehalbinsel" between the restaurant CarLo615 and Panoramico Rostock.
