- Design of experimental trawls and accessories for fishing research vessels
- Improvement of the escape possibilities for flatfishes from trawls by lateral grids and through special escape openings
- Reduction of the by-catch of cod in fishing for flounder and plaice by using top reduced bottom trawls
- Investigations on the escape behavior (escape direction, escape time) of fish in trawls
Research Interests
- Reduction of by-catch in active and passsive fishing gear
- Development, design and calculation of fishing gears and mechanical test equipment
- Reducing negative impacts of fishing gear on the environment
