Drones give us a unique view of the study sites from above. We use them to assess changes in the canopy. This perspective is rare in the forest and provides insights into tree specific phases of leaf development and discoloration in an otherwise homogeneous stand. This information helps us to better explain the possible reaction of trees and to further develop phenology and growth models.
