We are interested in the role of different tree species in the landscape water balance, especially in differences between tree species' water turnover during the vegetation period (April to October). We study how the different tree species influence the level and timing of groundwater recharge under different conditions. To this end, we are working with large lysimeters on the intensive monitoring site in Britz.
