Sharon was nominated by the Katholischen Akademischen-Ausländer-Dienst (KAAD) with her topic on food waste at street markets and in low-income households in Zimbabwe. Finally, Sharon was able to prevail against strong competition.
The scholarship is awarded annually to outstanding scholarship holders in doctoral funding who achieve something special - both in terms of academic research and in terms of their commitment to their country and the KAAD community. The scholarship consists of a monthly financial allowance for one year.
We very much welcome the jury's decision and are pleased that Sharon's hard work in developing and implementing her dissertation is valued. Sharon received the good news during her stay at the ReTaste conference in Crete, where she will be presenting the results of her work in the next few days.
