The Gesellschaft für Regionalforschung is the German-speaking section of the Regional Science Association International (RSAI) and was founded in 1963. In line with the interdisciplinary backgrounds of its approximately 250 members, who are predominantly from Germany, Austria and Switzerland, the GfR's research spectrum covers a wide range of current regional science topics. Some of these were discussed in the summer of 2021 at the 11th GfR Summer Conference, organized by the Thünen Institute together with the TU Braunschweig and the TU Dresden. The Institute of Rural Economics warmly congratulates Dr. Peters on his new position!
