How do climate change, the Corona pandemic, energy and economic crises affect people's social relations? Are there differences between rural and non-rural areas in this respect? What new questions, perspectives, challenges and opportunities does this raise for social science network research?
These questions are the focus of the Spring Conference of the Network Research Section in the German Sociological Association (DGS) organised by the Thünen Institute of Rural Studies. Sylvia Keim-Klärner, Andreas Klärner and Tobias Mettenberger are pleased to welcome researchers from different disciplines with their thematically and methodologically innovative contributions to Braunschweig.
The keynote lecture titled „The short- and long-term consequences of the covid pandemic for social networks“ will be given by the renowned sociologist and human geographer Beate Völker. She is a professor at Utrecht University and director of the Netherlands Institute for the Study of Crime and Law Enforcement (NSCR).
The conference will take place on 15 and 16 March 2023 at the Thünen Institute in Braunschweig.
A detailed programme and further information on the event can be found at the webpages of the DGS Section.
Registrations can be send as mail to Tobias Mettenberger (tobias.mettenberger@thuenen.de) until 3 March 2023. For further planning, the organising team would be very grateful if a short feedback on the participation in the offered meals is given in the mails.
