The section offers a platform for exchange and understanding to all scholars and practitioners with an interest in sociological network research.
The section considers networks from a sociological perspective. This entails the assumption that the interactions, behavior and relationships of the actors in a network are influenced by the global and local structures of the network.
The section is open to theoretical and empirical contributions. Methodologically, these include formal network analysis, Big Data studies, and simulations, as well as statistical analysis of egocentric networks and qualitative interpretive methods. Theoretical approaches range from behavioral and action theory to relational sociology and constructivism. In addition, the section supports interdisciplinary collaboration, as network research is gaining popularity and followers across disciplines as well.
