Five academics from our institute open up their research findings on rural areas for discussion. The topics they cover range from an overview of the geography of rural areas and regionally differentiated analyses of socio-economic inequalities to geography of discontent, electoral geography studies and subjective dimensions of discontent.
- The international project "Social and political consequences of spatial inequalities", led by Prof. Dr Andreas Klärner, is represented with a total of seven lectures. These will be given by Andreas Klärner, Larissa Deppisch, Franziska Lengerer and Martin Refisch as well as representatives of the Czech and Polish project partners.
- Dr Annett Steinführer is co-organiser of the session "Three decades of rural geography around the world: Where are we in 2024?" and will give the lecture "Rural geography in Germany: global concepts for local challenges?" together with Dr Stefan Kordel (Friedrich-Alexander-Universität Erlangen-Nürnberg).
The congress will take place from 25 to 30 August 2024 at Dublin City University (Ireland).
