The KIDA symposium, which took place from 26.09. – 28.09.2023 at the Julius Kühn-Institute in Quedlinburg, served to strengthen artificial intelligence (AI) competence as well as networking between the different institutes of the BMEL. In numerous presentations and a poster session, participants were able to inform each other about their projects and exchange information about their AI expertise. Together with our project partner Markus Rauhut from the Fraunhofer Institute of Industrial Mathematics ITWM, Stephanie Helmling presented the project on automated wood species identification in fiber materials using machine learning.
