What do the various professions in wood research involve? The pupils will explore this question during the Future Day.
They will visit stations in the carpentry workshop, the chipboard pilot plant, the biology laboratory and the wood collection. In the bionics section of the Institute of Wood Sciences at the University of Hamburg, nature will be shown as a teacher for technical solutions, while in the wood chemistry section, the odors of wood components will be tested and bonding tests with bio-based adhesives will be carried out. There will also be entertaining surprises.
