Data Publication
Good scientific practice demands that research data shall be preserved for an extended period of time and, if appropriate, be published. Special precautions must be taken to ensure data integrity as well as findability and reusability according to the FAIR principles. The Service Unit Research Data Management assists in organising and documenting datasets and in annotating them with suitable metadata. We help to select future-proof data formats and support the respective data transformations.
Finally, the service unit also advises on the entire publication process of research data, from selecting an appropriate repository and formulating usage rights (if necessary, in collaboration with the legal department) to the actual upload to a publication platform. Specifically, the service unit, together with the Library, supports the publication of research data on OpenAgrar. OpenAgrar is a repository that is jointly operated by institutions within the Federal Ministry of Food and Agriculture.
