Purpose:  MUlti-Purpose Education Survey (MUPEDS)

This trip serves to train students from the University of Rostock (MUlti-Purpose Education Survey - MUPEDS) and takes place exclusively in German waters of the Baltic Sea. During the trip, fish are mainly caught for catch-and-release experiments using trawls and handlines (e.g., at wreck sites). A CTD transect (measurement of conductivity (C), temperature (T) and depth (D) using a probe) will be carried out on one day at the southern edge of Mecklenburg Bay ("Boltenhagen measuring field").

The trip is highly dependent on the weather, depending on the season. Good weather conditions are required for catching and keeping live fish and for the marking work on board. Captain and cruise leader will endeavour to ensure the best possible course of the trip for the fulfilment of the planned activities.
