The Thünen Institute of Fisheries Ecology is heading into the future with a strong tailwind: Over the past months, the team has been significantly strengthened with numerous new staff members – and this growth trajectory will continue in 2025. With a motivated and diverse team, more scientific ideas can be realized, and the institute’s essential ongoing tasks can continue to be carried out at a high level. The institute warmly welcomes two new permanent scientists, Dr. Peggy Weist and Dr. Bérenger Colusol, who will enrich the team with their expertise in the long term. Several new research projects will launch in 2025 or enter their productive phase.
“We are excited about the new opportunities and look forward to advancing fisheries ecology together,” the leadership stated. With fresh know-how and combined expertise, the Thünen Institute is looking ahead to a promising future.
