The findings of the FLESRA project presented at the workshop on 25.11.2022 emphasized the importance and need of benefit sharing mechanisms, as also demanded by various key stakeholders including those in Carbon realm.
The fact that the results were also shared to Ethiopian Forest Development (EFD) helped to get the attention of policy makers at EFD and initiated the inclusion of benefit sharing mechanism in the new forest regulation in Ethiopia.
This further highlights the vital importance of a close relationship between science and policy actors.
