The Thünen Institutes of Forestry and of Forest Ecosystems in collaboration with CIFOR (Centre of International Forest Research) are conducting a research project on forest landscape and ecosystem service restoration in Africa (FLESRA) using a case of Ethiopia.

On October 2nd / 3rd 2024 the preliminary final results have been presented to and discussed with 36 representatives from public administrations, landscape representatives, academia and national as well as international organisations in Ethiopia. The research results have been received with great interest, most importantly from the Ethiopian Forestry Development (EFD). EFD strongly envisages a follow-up project on FLESRA implementation and further accompanying research together with CIFOR and Thünen Institute.
