The Campus of the Faculty for Renewable Resources is located 20 km south of Tamale.

The Ghanaian Faculty has been founded in 2009 and is obliged to research and teaching in environmental sciences. Four departments carry out research in the fields of game management, fisheries, forest management, and ecotourism and environmental management. All departments are also active in teaching within the study course of Management of Natural Resources. The faculty in Ghana has cooperated in the past with Thünen Institute of International Forestry and Forest Economics on aspects of sustainable forest management. The cooperation is now formally strengthened with the signed Memorandum of Understanding.
