During their stay in Germany four representatives of the Departamento de Madera, Celulosa y Papel (DMCyP) of Guadalajara University, Mexico visited the Thünen Institute of International Forestry and Forest Economics on June, 1st 2017.
After visits in Berlin, Regensburg and Hannover the Thünen Institutes of Wood Research, of International Forestry and Forest Economics and the Centre of Competence on the Origin of Timber in Hamburg were the focus of interest. Topics of the discussions at TI-WF were forest certification, the international efforts to combat illegal logging and associated trade and a brief introduction of the TI-WF research project:
Landscape Forestry in the Tropics (LaForeT).
