New international cooperation-partners:

Memoranda of Understanding for the collaboration within the project LaForeT have been signed with local and international partners from Zambia.

The following partners of cooperation support the implementation of the LaForeT project in Zambia:

  • Center for International Forestry Research (CIFOR), Lusaka, Zambia
    Represented by CIFOR Director General Peter Holmgren
  • Copperbelt University (CBU), School of Natural Resources, Kitwe, Zambia
    Represented by CBU Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Naison Ngoma

The five-year project was started in 2014, and included a Zambia component in 2017. It is implemented with eight international partners of cooperation in three different countries: Ecuador, Philippines and Zambia.

32 scientists and specialists are involved in the realisation who analyse social, ecological and economical aspects of forestry in the tropics. The overall aim are policy approaches for improving livelihoods, sustainable forest management and conservation.
