New project for the activation of small-scale forestry

The German Federal Office for Agriculture and Food (BLE) has approved a new research project with the title “Climate protection in small private forests – for owners and society (KKEG)”

© Philine Feil

On behalf of the Federal Ministry of Food and Agriculture (BMEL) this research project develops offers for small private forests in Germany and identifies options for their implementation, which both improve the efficiency of sustainable timber production and serve climate and conservation objectives. Central to this research project is therefore the required balance between interests of society and interests of forest owners.

The duration of the project is three years and will be implemented and coordinated by the Department of Forestry in Germany in cooperation with our partners wald-wird-mobil gGmbH and the Institut für Landschaftsökologie und Naturschutz Bühl.
