Under the title “Biomass flow in bioeconomy: Overview for Germany”, this peer-reviewed study makes a contribution towards bioeconomy knowledge by calculating the biomass flows from production to use in the German bioeconomy.

The paper includes agriculture, forestry as well as biogenic residues and waste as biomass producing sectors, and food and feed as well as material and energy sectors as biomass use sectors. Main purpose and core result of the study was the construction of a biomass flow Sankey diagram for the year 2015. With this, a better overall understanding of biomass uses is presented.
