Permanent position

On 1 May 2018, Dr. Matthias Bösch took up a permanent position in the department “Forest Products Markets“

Dr. Matthias Bösch studied Economics at the University of Zurich and received his doctoral degree from the Technical University of Munich on the topic “Technological Change in Agriculture and Deforestation in the Tropics - An Economic Perspective with Special Reference to the Case of Ecuador”. Since March 2013 he has been working successfully at the Thünen Institute of International Forestry and Forest Economics in several different projects.

His new responsibilities will be, inter alia, the analysis of the impact of policy interventions such as the EU Timber Regulation (EUTR) on timber markets, the assessment of national, European and global timber markets, as well the analysis of the forest-based industries’ value added.
