Permanent Position

Since the beginning of October 2021, Dr. Sebastian Glasenapp has resumed working for the Wood Markets Unit as a permanent researcher.

Sebastian Glasenapp will be primarily involved in the project Wood-Resource-Monitoring, which makes an important contribution to a sustainable resource policy in the forestry and wood processing sector.

After almost two years at the Federal Ministry of Food and Agriculture, Dr. Glasenapp is returning to the Thünen Institute, where he was previously employed already. Other professional positions include a research position at the University of Hamburg as well as consulting work at the United Nations Economic Commission for Europe (UNECE) and the United Nations Food and Agricultural Organization (FAO).

Dr. Glasenapp studied wood science at the University of Hamburg and graduated with a PhD at the University of Hamburg in 2020. The focus of his research was the statistical analysis of wood energy use in the household sector in the context of renewable energy.
