The focus of her research activities is on global timber market modelling. This includes the analysis of national and international markets in the light of current policies and economic developments using and further developing a partial equilibrium model for the global forest product market. Furthermore, she supports the research work of different projects related to the forestry and timber sector.
Since January 2015, Franziska Schier has been working as a researcher at the Thünen Institute of Forestry on projects including WEHAM scenarios, BEPASO and Relocation Effects of the EU Biodiversity Strategy 2030. Franziska Schier studied Environmental and Bioresource Management at the University of Natural Resources and Applied Life Sciences (BOKU) Vienna, Austria and is doing her PhD in Forestry at the University of Göttingen.
