The European Commission has set up an expert group on forest-based industries and sectorally related issues. The tasks shall be to provide the Commission with legal, economic and technical advice, to establish cooperation, to assist the Commission in monitoring policies and activities and to bring about an exchange of experience and good practice. Prof. Dr. Matthias Dieter, head of the Thünen-Institute of International Forestry and Forest Economics is appointed member in the expert group. The first meeting takes place on 21 November 2014.
