The workshop “Advancing Employment Data and Promoting Decent Work in the Tanzanian Forest Sector” was co-organised by the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) and the International Labour Organization (ILO), held in Morogoro, Tanzania, 3-4th December 2024.

The Thünen Institute of Forestry actively contributed to the workshop in two significant capacities. Dr. Rattiya Lippe, together with a colleague from FAO, delivered a presentation on the global and regional employment estimates, coupled with the updated methodology. Additionally, Dr. Lippe presented the ongoing research on labour-related indicators for measuring decent work in the Tanzanian forest sector.
