New publication on wood energy consumption in private households

In 2020, 26.95 million m³ of wood fuels were used for heating in 5.5 million private households

The energetic use of wood in private households accounts for the largest share of biomass used for heat production in Germany and can thus contribute to climate protection. Within the scope of the present study, the use of fuelwood in 2020 was determined by a random sample of 10,000 households.
