Main reasons that refrain small-scale forest owners from expansion of rotation periods for acacia plantations, as revealed from this study, include small and fragmented land, natural hazards, and cash constraints. Findings of empirical analysis based on household surveys and focus group discussions were published recently by Zhunusova et al. (2019): “Smallholder Decision-Making on Sawlog Production: The Case of Acacia Plantation Owners in Central Vietnam”.
