Melvin Lippe and Simon Thomsen participated in the scientific conference Open Science Meeting, organized by the Global Land Programme from 04.-08.11.2024 in Oaxaca, Mexico. Both gave an oral presentation (Simon Thomsen: Regional modeling of LULUCF sink potentials in Brazil using a soft-coupled “glocal” approach; Melvin Lippe: Long-term modeling to investigate trade-offs between climate, food and landscape restoration until 2100 in Ecuador).
Melvin Lippe further organized a research session on “Modelling social-ecological systems across scale: calling for new vistas and solutions in the Anthropocene” together with colleagues from the University of Twente, Netherlands, (Yue Dou), CIFOR-ICRAF (Rachmat Mulia) and RIKS, Niederlande (Hedwig van Delden).
About 700 persons participated at the GLPOSM5 conference during 04.-08.11.2024.
