In the project "WEHAM-Szenarios", the Thünen Institute, the University of Hamburg and the Eberswalde University of Sustainable Development worked closely together to develop alternative forest treatment and wood use scenarios and to evaluate the sustainability of these scenarios.

Within the two-and-a-half-year project period, stakeholders were involved in the scenario development and evaluation in an online survey and three stakeholder workshops. The developed scenarios and their sustainability assessment reflect the conflict of use between wood use and nature conservation in the forest from the perspective of different stakeholders.

The research project was funded by BMEL and BMUB within the framework of the Forest Climate Fund through the project manager ptBLE.
