Three researchers from the Thünen Institute for Rural Economics (WI) participated in the Winter Seminar 2025. This annual event brings together scholars to discuss current developments and topics in regional science.
Alexander Kopka presented his research titled "Knowledge Integration Patterns in AI: A Firm-level Taxonomy and Performance Implications". He examined how companies integrate artificial intelligence into their business processes and the impact this has on their economic performance.
Damiaan Persyn spoke on "Regional Effects of Sectoral Transformation". His presentation analyzed how structural changes in individual industries influence the economic development of different regions.
Jan Cornelius Peters presented his research under the title "How the 'Honecker-Buckel’ is Promoting Productivity Growth in Rural and Urban Regions of Eastern Germany". He explored how demographic trends affect productivity development in both urban and rural areas in East Germany.
