This first cooperation professorship between the Bremerhaven University of Applied Sciences and the Thünen Institute will be the start of a long-term collaboration and will further intensify the cooperation between the two institutions.

Miriam Püts has already completed her Master's degree in cooperation with the Thünen Institute of Sea Fisheries and has been working as a research associate in the  Marine Living Resources research unit since 2016. During this time, her research has focused on ecosystem modelling, which was also the subject of her PhD thesis. Miriam's future research will focus on modelling the effects of marine protected areas and offshore wind energy on marine bioresources and their sustainable use.

Further information about the project can be found on our project website "Becoming and being a professor in Bremerhaven".
