The Chinese State Forest Administration had delegated eight high ranking scientists from the Chinese Academy of Forestry and the University for Forestry in Beijing to this event. In her welcome note the Chinese head of the delegation referred to know-how and transformation deficiencies in the Chinese forest sector. She furthermore expressed her expectation that such kind of workshops could contribute to the sustainable improvement of the quality in the forest sector in China.

In sum 16 thematic presentations were held and vividly discussed from German and Chinese scientists and practitioners.

A partner and project platform supplemented the presentation event. On day 3 an excursion was scheduled for a forestry district of the Lueneburger Heathlands where experiences and subsidizing approaches with private forests in Germany were highlighted. It was concluded by Chinese and German participants that the workshop could be regarded as a successful example for future intensified cooperation in the forestry sector.
