Lydia Rosenkranz studied forestry at the Albert-Ludwigs-University in Freiburg, Germany. After her studies she was a Trainee at the State Forestry Administration of Rhineland Palatinate. Since January 2010 she successfully worked at the Thünen Institute of International Forestry and Forest Economics in several different projects.
In March 2016 Lydia Rosenkranz completed her Ph.D. thesis about "Auswirkungen der Umsetzung von Naturschutzmaßnahmen auf die Forst- und Holzwirtschaft". Her doctorate was a result of a co-operation between the Thünen Institute and the University of Göttingen.
Her key responsibilities will be the compilation and methodological development of the Economic Accounts for Forestry and of the Forest Accounting Framework for Germany, the analysis of the Test Enterprise Network (TBN-Forst) of BMEL as well as the model-based analysis of changing political and economic conditions in the forestry and timber industry in Germany.
