The German GEM team is reorganizing: After 25 successful years, Rolf Sternberg (University of Hanover, center) hands over the team leadership to the new dual leadership of Christian Hundt (Thünen Institute, right) and Florian Täube (RKW, 2nd from left). The research coordinator on the Thünen side will be Christian Bergholz (2nd from right).

Through compact regular publications, we inform political actors, as well as the media and the general public, about the current economic situation and development trends in rural areas.

Are rural areas particularly affected by skills shortages and what is the reason for this? This is the subject of a new article published in the May issue of Wirtschaftsdienst, which was written in collaboration with Jan Cornelius Peters.
